Yolanda Masinga was the 2011 Miss Africa Tri-State Queen. She was born and raised in Durban, South Africa. Currently based in the USA but her roots are strongly grounded in SA. I am completely enticed by my culture and differences between these societies are so vast, said Yolanda.
According to her, she believes in living life to the fullest, celebrating each day as it is a gift from God. She comes from a family of females — strong females. Yolanda was raised by her mum and grandmother, and from her mum, she gets her sense of independence.
During her reign as the Queen, she was involved in various charity events.Queen Yolanda Masinga, started her reign as a Goodwill Ambassador by visiting Covenant House in Newark New Jersey and supporting one of the less emphasized groups in the community; teenagers and young adults.
She graced many events for good causes – Miss Africa Tri State Yolanda Masinga was a special guest at the Friends of Teboho, Inc., 1st annual fundraising event for Teboho Trust. Teboho Trust is a community organization based in Soweto, South Africa that empowers vulnerable, orphan and at-risk children to reach their fullest potential
“On Saturday, July 23rd, 2011. The group RENOVATE had their first annual MALARIA BENEFIT GALA. It was indeed a successful and well put together event; with the rich display of culture, good food, entertainment and of course the visual presentation of the plight of the people in the remote area of Nigeria with malaria.
Miss Africa Tri-State Yolanda Masinga graced this occasion as a Special Guest of the Foundation to support the mission and vision of the organization. She alongside other notable personalities were recognized for their support both financially and morally towards the good cause.
Throughout her reign, she was a voice indeed in the African community in the Tri State area.
